Ealing Green Party
Neil Reynolds
Neil has lived in the borough of Ealing since 1998. He works as a teacher, with 22 years experience in London schools. During that time he has also served as a school governor for 7 years.
Neil is currently Chair of Ealing Green Party.
Marijn van de Geer
Marijn (‘Mah-rhine‘) joined the Green Party after watching a campaign video about politicians needing to stop acting like children. With politics in disarray and no action on climate and environmental breakdown, it inspired her to join what she felt was the only political party that would actually address our time’s major issues.
Since joining the Green Party, Marijn has stood in the Ealing council elections several times and was also the London Assembly candidate for Ealing and Hillingdon in 2021. An Ealing resident for over 17 year, Marijn loves everything this borough has to offer and is passionate about protecting urban nature and wildlife. She is an active climate activist, cycles everywhere on her Dutch bike, and is a trustee and fosters cats for a local animal rescue charity.
Kate Crossland
Kate is an NHS doctor and is a frequent speaker at hustings and other local events representing the Green Party. She joined the party because while the changes we need to make might sound simple, the reality is they need money and political changes to make them happen.
Kate’s been successful in winning money from a government grant scheme to explore a renewable energy project in Hanger Hill. As chair of a local Residents Association, she’s met regularly with her local Safer Neighbourhood Police team and has a good understanding of the issues around crime and antisocial behaviour in Ealing. Kate is a school governor and ran the Parent-Teacher Association at a local primary school. She also works within her professional role on improving the environmental impact of healthcare.
Parts of Ealing particularly suffer from poor air quality and improving this is a priority for both Kate and the Green Party. If elected as a Councillor, Kate would work with residents to make walking and cycling easier and safer, while making sure these changes are made fairly. Similarly Kate would try to give residents more of a say in local developments, particularly making sure developers contribute meaningfully to the areas they are making a profit from, and ensuring the Green spaces of our beautiful Borough are protected for generations to come.
Sam Diamond
My name is Sam and I am the Treasurer of Ealing Green Party.
I moved to Ealing whilst working for the BBC as a sound technician before going freelance.
I have been a member of Ealing Green Party for over 30 years making me the longest serving member of the party!
I have lived in the borough of Ealing since 1987 in both Hanwell and Chiswick.
In that time I have seen Ealing Greens go from strength to strength. At the last local elections, of Ealing’s twenty-four wards, we were second place in Hanwell Broadway and South Acton, and the third place party (ahead of the LibDems) in sixteen. In Westminster elections, we more than doubled our vote count and won third place in Ealing Southall and Ealing North. We feel close to getting Green Party representation on Ealing Council.
Clare Welsby
I have lived in Hanwell for over 18 years and had family connections for much longer, although I lived from 1980 – 2006 in Orkney. I have worked in public services since 1991. In early years, leading children’s centre services in Ealing 2006 – 2021, and promoting inclusion for young people with additional needs in Ealing in all aspects of their lives since 2021. Although retired I continue to contribute to services for people in voluntary and other roles.
The Green Party’s Core Values resonate strongly with me and my earlier political left leaning position on the need for social justice and equity as a Liberal voter (Jo Grimond) – in Orkney and Labour initially when I moved back to London; with lifelong concerns regarding environmental issues and concern as a parent and grandparent about the destructive and socially damaging path we are on.
‘The Green Party is a party of social and environmental justice, which supports a radical transformation of society for the benefit of all, and for the planet as a whole.

We understand that the threats to economic, social and environmental wellbeing are part of the same problem and recognise that solving one of these crises cannot be achieved without solving the others.’
I joined the Green Party approximately 10 years ago and became active in Ealing Green Party in 2021. I am now starting my second year as the Secretary. There is small but dedicated group of active members which it is great to be a part of and to grow. Playing an active role is very social and an opportunity to act on long held convictions and contribute to change.
The Green Party are growing their voice in national and local government, and we are working hard towards having a Green voice on Ealing Council in 2026. Please join us – it will be a great experience.
