Our Hanwell Broadway Candidates
Our two new Green Party Candidates for Hanwell Broadway are Clare Welsby and Andrew Walkley. You most likely have seen them many times when they have been knocking on doors, listening to what you feel are the important issues for you, delivering our leaflets; and campaigning on local issues.

Green Councillors in Hanwell Broadway?
In Hanwell Broadway ward in recent elections, most voters have chosen between Labour and the Green Party. At the last local elections, the Green party came second, with nearly as many votes as the Conservatives and LibDems combined, they came a distant third and fourth respectively.
This means the Green Party can win in Ealing, there is no risk of anyone else winning, and a vote for the Conservatives or LibDems will not influence the election outcome.
On the doorstep we’ve been hearing of disappointment with Labour over local issues like their original plan for Warren Farm, closures of Children’s Centres and Libraries, and invisible councillors, plus anger and disillusion over national issues including cuts to disability benefits, the two child benefit cap, backsliding on climate change and the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

CHILDREN’S CENTRE CLOSURES
Ealing Council are proposing cuts to the local offer for families of young children. Children’s Centres were introduced as part of SureStart, a programme the last Labour government were rightly proud of, lifting children out of poverty.
Some parts of the borough will be losing most of their children’s centres, adding pressure to the remaining ones.
